My Favorite Worship Songs
Here are some of my favorite worship songs.
What are some of your favorite worship songs?
“Christian” Music vs. “Secular” Music
I’ve been a music director at Cross Point Community Church for a little over two years now. I love my job, but I’ve discovered that I have no influence with people other than Christians. To remedy this, I’ve recently started playing music in bars again.
I’m not playing “Christian” music in the bars; I’m playing “secular” music.
As a side note, I really don’t feel that God cares what kind of music I play as long as I do it to the best of my abilities. All music can be worship music. I played with my 90’s cover band last Monday night a worshiped all through “Round Here” by Counting Crows.
But the important thing is that I’m getting to know more people outside of church. I’m having influence with people outside my circle.
Do you have influence with non-Christians?

Caught in a blog game!
I’ve gotten tagged 3 times over the weekend from this blog game
Here are the rules..
1. Post the rules on your blog.
2. Write 5 random things about yourself.
3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post.
4. If you’re tagged, DO IT and pass on the tag.
I’m 4 credit hours away from having a minor in dance. I’ve been taking dance classes since high school. (ballet, jazz, modern, swing tap, etc.)
If I weren’t working in a church, I’d be a full-time thespian. I went to school for theatre. I made my living at it until I felt a calling to go into ministry. I miss theatre a lot, but I love what God is doing through me in church work.
I type with one finger. I have never taken a typing class so I “chicken peck” with one finger. It takes me forever to write emails and blogs.
I was in my first police line-up at age 14. I wasn’t the best kid!
I shave my armpits. I started while working in KY at an outdoor theatre. I was sweating a lot during the show and tried it to see if it would cut down on my perspiration.
Now it’s your turn
Worshiping from the Stage
For the last two Sunday nights I’ve been able to sit in the congregation at church and worship from the floor instead of the stage. It’s wonderful! You can actually feel the crowd worshiping and praising. I think that it feels better worshiping in the crowd rather than in front of it. It’s a lot less pressure and it’s easier to focus on God.
How do you feel worshiping in the crowd?
Songs You Need To Know
The following is a list of songs that everyone should have. This is what I call “mood setting music.” I listen to these songs when I want to be inspired.

Counting Crows – Colorblind
Five For Fighting – Love Song
Greg Laswell – High and Low
Mindy Smith – Down in Flames
Seabird – Maggie Mahoney
Paramore – Hallelujah
Sigur Rós – Glósóli
Matthew Perryman Jones – Save You
What are some of your “mood setting songs?”
Yes We’re Still Doing It!
I’ve gotten a ton of calls lately from people asking if our church will still be doing the song “Healer.” Of course we’re still doing it. Why wouldn’t we?
Just because the writer is going through some issues doesn’t mean that the song isn’t a great worship song!
Do we need to throw out the book of Psalms because David committed adultery? No. God uses messed up people all the time to do great things.
Dirty Room
This is what happens when I have control of one off the rooms in our house. Everything I own is in this room. It serves as a closet/music room/trash can.
Any other messy people our there?
