This was sent to me this weekend for inspiration.

Comments? Anyone?

Just imagine the smell you’d get from that many people taking off their shoes and socks in one room…I’d definitely skip that part in an evening service!

That’s the first thing I thought too Christina!

OK so the sock thing is a little odd, but hey…that congregation is way more engaged than ours ever is.

im with juliepersinger on this one… maybe we need to try it to get people to join in more and have some fun worshiping…

Oh! uh…hmmmmm I’m so baffled right now! The bad hair including Vanilla Ice like stripes and bleach, the hum of bad speakers, and then…the socks! I totally found myself holding my breath while watching this thing! And just when I thought it would all be okay I hear a Dead or Alive song…with a slight twist. All this in just the first minute and a half of a ten minute video. Wow! I’ve gotta give it to ’em though, they are really rockin’ it out for Jesus which is awesome.

You have to do this next weekend! All 10 minutes of it! Everyone knows waving socks in the air is best way to “engage” and grow closer to God! 😉

I am not sure how to respond but here it goes.

I appreciate his attempt and enthusiasm but if you are going to pull something like this off you best have the voice and musicians to back it up. And 9 minutes of Right Round is a bit long…Still a bit puzzled.

I can say this…the congregation was involved and celebrating which is impressive.

This is Rick Pino. He has a pretty thriving ministry. Tours the world. I’ve seen him lead worship in person, and he is a great guy, but very into “prophetic” worship. Nothing like this is planned. Even his recorded music is spontaneous most of the time…not pre-written.

Lots of people are into it, but I have to say, it’s not my fave. But I do agree that the congregation at CP could stand to get a little more into it, so if you mandate Sock Waving Day I’ll go with the flow… I’m just packing Febreze in my purse from now on.
